Unworthiness is a BIG FAT LIE!

The dictionary definition of unworthy is: not deserving a particular benefit, privilege, or compliment, lacking value or merit.  It leaves us feeling not good or deserving enough to receive.  For this reason, Satan wants us to feel unworthy because he knows it will prevent us from having bold faith and confidence in God and His Word.  If we don’t believe that we are worthy to come before God then this will block us from receiving what He has already provided for us. Unworthiness, when left unchallenged, will leave us feeling shameful or not good enough to receive from God, and this can effect us in every area of our life, limiting God’s power or preventing it from being released to transform our lives.

We need to know the truth that unworthiness is a big fat lie!  God, through the complete and finished work of the Cross, has already made you worthy - forgiven, righteous, approved, loved and accepted!  There is absolutely nothing you could ever do that will make you more or less righteous, loved, approved, or accepted in God’s eyes.

Eph 1:3-8 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

God’s grace is not dependent on us and on what we do (or what we have done).  The promises of God are a free gift already given to those who by faith have a relationship with Jesus!  This means that if you are in Christ then what Jesus purchased for you on the Cross is already your inheritance!  You received it all upon Salvation!

By grace you have been saved (healed, delivered, made whole), through faith (see Eph 2:8-9).  It is not by faith you receive BUT because you have faith in Jesus you have already received!  This is what grace is about!  We cannot do one thing to earn God’s favour.  We have been freed from sin and all its punishment!  This includes unworthiness and the guilt, shame and condemnation which causes it, because Jesus was punished instead of us, as our substitute.  So our right standing with God and freedom from our past is not dependant on us and on what we can do to make things right but rather is all dependant on Jesus and what He has already done for us!

So annihilate the lies and replace them with the truth of how God sees you!

Is your Past ruining your future?

I have found that besides physical healing many believers are also seeking healing for emotional issues that have arisen from the effects of what they experienced in their past.  This is an area where many remain captive, bound and struggle to break free.  But there is good news for everyone wanting breakthrough from the effects of their past.  The work that Jesus did on the Cross was a complete work and is enough for you to walk in victory in every area of your life!

We need to understand that Satan (not God) uses our past in an attempt to ruin our future.  He uses guilt, shame and condemnation to make us feel unworthy to come before God with a clean conscience.  These can become huge stumbling blocks in our relationship with God as they can prevent us from feeling worthy to receive from Him.

While we are unable to change what happened in the past, we can change what happens today and put a stop to the affects or outworking of what happened in our life from days gone by.  When we understand what God has done for us through the finished work of the Cross, we can break free from the chains of our past and experience lasting wholeness and walk in victory over our past once and for all!

Always remember that Satan is a defeated foe!  The battle has already been won and Satan has already been defeated.  Jesus disarmed and deprived him of the power to harm us. When you understand who you are in Christ, you will realise that you no longer need to struggle with anything that happened in your past because Satan’s power and hold over you has already been broken (Col 1:13-14).  Because Satan has been disarmed, the only power he has in your life is what you allow him to have, or the power that has gone unchallenged.  We can find ourselves submitting to things rather than resisting them to see them flee from our lives.  Therefore, if he can deceive you into believing his lies then that is where he gains power in your life.  For this reason, if we are kept tied to what happened in the past through guilt, shame or condemnation we wont be able to break free from what happened in the past and experience the freedom, truth and fullness of what God has already provided for us.

Over the next few posts I will cover unworthiness, shame, guilt and condemnation and how to walk in victory over these once and for all so you can lay hold of the truth of who you are in Christ and experience healing and wholeness in every area of your life!

Now that's good news!

Live Above the Line!

As believers of Jesus we are not meant to live below the line and live in poverty, sickness, depression, barrenness and scrape through life with barely enough to get by.  No!  Jesus paid the price so we can walk in the fullness of what He provided for us on the Cross.   Think about it, how can we reach a sick, broke and hurting world when we are sick, broke and hurting ourselves?  It is time that we begin to live in the inheritance that we received upon Salvation so we cross the line of poverty and walk in provision and abundance, from depression to joy, from sickness into health, from barrenness to fruitfulness and from brokenness to wholeness in every area of life!  So what are you waiting for?  It is time to cross the line!

IT IS FINISHED!

3 simple words but oh so powerful in their meaning!  These were the last words spoken by Jesus as He hung on the Cross.  Jesus had finished the work He came to do!  All we need to do to receive the fullness of what He did is to believe in our heart and confess that with our mouth (which means to agree with our mouth) that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead and we will be saved (Rom 10:8-10).  Saved means to be forgiven, delivered, healed, preserved, prospered and made whole!

Therefore this means that:-
  • Sin & Death
  • Guilt & Condemnation
  • Sickness & Disease
  • Pain & Shame
  • Poverty & Lack
  • Barrenness & Miscarriage
ARE ALL FINISHED so that 'in Christ' we have now received:-
  • Forgiveness & Eternal Life
  • Grace, Favour & God's unconditional love
  • Healing & Health
  • Wholeness, Soundness & Acceptance
  • Provision & Abundance
  • Fruitfulness in every area of life!
Amen!
